History

Back in 1974 a touring American Barbershop Chorus provided the inspiration to form the Great Western Chorus. We then became a founder member of the British Association of Barbershop Singers (BABS).

With emphasis on performance we sing songs across a very wide musical spectrum: contemporary, classical, country, unforgettable showstoppers and inspirational/sacred music… all a cappella.

We are proud to have been national Chorus Champions no less than 10 times (most recently in 2017). Indeed, we have never been out of the top five. We were honoured to represent the UK 3 times in the World Chorus Championships; California (2009), Missouri (2011) and Orlando Florida (2018).

Our reputation for entertainment has garnered us performances at The Royal Albert Hall (twice), the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, The London Coliseum, The Barbican, The Royal Festival Hall and more locally at the Colston Hall in Bristol.
