Learn to Sing

Have you always wanted to sing, but never had the confidence or the opportunity? Well, now’s your chance to learn to sing in a choir in a relaxed friendly atmosphere  Learn to Sing is a 6-week course for people of all ages and singing abilities – from absolute beginners to those with some experience but who haven’t sung for a while. Seven courses are being held around the UK: The Great Western Chorus (GWC) and Avonbelles are delighted to be hosting one of them in Kingswood, Bristol.

The course is FREE, and lasts 6 weeks, beginning on February 10th 2010 at 7.15pm, with sessions held every Wednesday evening.

Sessions will be run by a professional vocal coach, and will introduce you to some basic singing techniques: breathing, posture, 4-part harmony, and basic musical notation.

Learn to Sing is an exciting partnership between Making Music , the British Association of Barbershop Singers (BABS) and Choir of the Year. At the end of the course, it’s hoped that Learn to Sing participants will have the opportunity to take part in the South West finals for the 2010 Choir of the Year event.
