Our Style of SingingThe Great Western Chorus of Bristol sings unaccompanied four-part close harmony. With its roots in Barbershop, our style of "a cappella" singing differs from traditional male voice or mixed choirs by using more unusual chord structures and by placing the highest harmony part above the melody line. In addition, we focus on entertainment. By taking well known songs and applying our visual presentation, we give our audience a performance they won't forget.
Imagine 50 men giving the "treatment" to the Drifter's "Under The Boardwalk" with their beach accessories ... Or the misery of "Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?" portrayed in the faces and gestures of the singers. And "I'll Walk With God" sung with the passion it deserves.
